Midland Credit Management complaint
Today is Easter Sunday. I've received 2 calls from MCM agents claiming someone in our household owing money to a Shell Credit Card company. We had no clue what she and he were talking about, nor did we own a Shell credit card ever. Is this type of call legal in New York? The callers both quickly offered to settle for a lesser amount before they actually knew whom they were calling.

First early in the morning, a female agent called. When I was trying to verify whom she was calling, nothing matched except for a similar name selling. I thought it was a mistake...

About 8 hours later a male agent from MCM called again for the same thing.

I am very annoyed. In my view this is an obvious illegal act. If this was legal, people could just anyone and make money.
