Midland Credit Management complaint by POed consmer

I just checked my mail today and received a Pre-legal notification stating i owed 777.94 with 221.75 interest equaling 999.69. Original creditor was Citibank/Goodyear. 1st i never had Citibank for anything other than an old mortgage that they took over years ago and i refinanced that and never Goodyear. My first name is misspelled the letter A & E are swapped and no Middle Initial. All the searching i did on this company seems to be a little bit shady. So im wondering if i should just call them and see if they have some wrong information.

MCM is probably the sleaziest of them all. The first time they called me over an EXTREMELY old CC debt (we're talking 15 years ago), they were fishing for information. To be honest, I couldn't tell you if there was an unpaid balance on the card or not - It's been over 10 years since I'v used ANY credit card.

Long story short, durring their little fishing expodition, the agent gave me MY OWN social security number over the phone and asked me if it was mine. I was floored.
